Then either soak a tampon in it or use it as a douche just before bed. Remember garlic will no win any prizes in the sweet smells competition.
Teatree (Melaleuca, various species)
Teatree has become prominent in its use as an antiseptic. Studies have shown that Teatree is particularly effective against yeast infections which account for about half of all vaginitis infections. Tea Tree Essential Oil, 4 fl oz liquid
For recurrent vaginitis, mix 2 to 3 drops of Teatree oil with a tablespoonful of yoghurt and stock a tampon in it. Insert at night for up to 6 nights. Don’t ingest Teatree oil, or any other essential oil.
Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum)
Cardamom has twice the active ingredient that treats vaginitis than Teatree. You can follow the instructions for Treatree but instead use 1 or 2 drops of cardamom oil. Cardamom Essential Oil 100% Pure 365 Drops Therapeutic Grade By Nature’s Kiss
Goldenseal (Hydrasis Canadensis)Goldenseal is a broad spectrum herbal antibiotic thanks to two compounds; berberine and hydrastine that it contains. It is especially effective in treating trichomonal vaginitis, a type caused by an amoeba. It also has some immune-stimulating activity especially when combined with Echinacea. Both of these herbs are taken orally in the form of teas, tinctures and capsules. Nature’s Way Goldenseal Herb,180-Capsules
Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) – In many cases of vaginitis are caused by infection, but sometimes, particularly in postmenopausal women, virginal dryness can lead to inflammation and irritation during or after intercourse. Applying a moisturising lotion or egg white mixed with the contents of a vitamin E capsule and a couple drops of comfrey tincture just before intercourse. Comfrey Moisturing Lotion – 4 oz
Lavender (Lavandula, various species)
It is especially effective in treating trichomonas and gardnerella vaginitis. Add a few drops to douches, sitz baths, creams, lotions and tampons. Remember essential oils are for external use only and not to over douche as this leaves you open to pelvic inflammation disease. Lavender Essential Oil, 2 ounce
Combination with other herbs does a better job than on its own in treating many types of vaginitis. Combine 1 ounce of Yellowdock root, 2 ounces Echinacea root, one ounce of Goldenseal root and 1 ounce of Ginseng root as a tonic for overall health.
You can use mixture as a tea.
You can grind it and put the mixture in gelatine capsules. This sound like a lot of work but, if you suffer from chronic vaginitis then the extra effort will be worth your while. Natures Way Yellow Dock Root, 100 Capsules
Apple Cider Vinegar
For several types of vaginitis, add three cups of apple cider to a hot bath and soak in the bath for 20 minutes spreading your legs to allow the water to reach the desired destination. This will help restore normal vaginal acidity which in turn will help banish candida, trichomonas and gardnerella. Apple Cider Vinegar, 450 mg, 180-Count Capsules
